How to Access WSU Census Data

Across campuses, offices, colleges, and departments, data is used every day to support decision-making and inform teaching, research, and university operations. One key source of university-wide data is the WSU census data, which includes information about student enrollment, demographics, degrees conferred, and more.

Each semester, WSU takes a census snapshot to discover what our system wide make-up looks like. Things like how many students are enrolled, on what campuses, and in which programs. What types of students—like first-time, first-year students, transfer students, first-generation students, as well as broader student demographics.

WSU census data is available to all WSU employees who want to better understand the students and programs that shape the university. Whether you’re looking to explore trends in your department, support a research proposal, or make data-informed decisions, census data can be a valuable resource.

Common Types of Census Information:

  • Student demographic summaries and new student enrollment
  • Headcount by degree level, program campus, and academic program
  • Undergraduate and graduate admissions information
  • Credit hours and full-time equivalent enrollment by campus and college
  • Degrees conferred by degree level and/or campus
  • Course enrollment, end term grade summaries, GPA, percentage of students withdrawn or failed

How do you access WSU census data?

For WSU employees, WSU census data can be accessed through logging into your MyWSU account and clicking on OBIEE reporting. There is a lot of information available in OBIEE reporting depending on your individual WSU permissions.

Watch this video for a quick how-to on accessing WSU census data through OBIEE:

Help is a data request away

As always, if there’s information that you need help finding, you can submit a data request for internal WSU employees here, or a request for external submissions is available here.
