Biography

Rob Smith is a Data Scientist for Institutional Research at Washington State University. Rob provides high-quality reporting and synthesis of evidence for decision-makers. His work predominantly lies at the broad intersection of higher education and high-dimensional statistics. Rob trained as a quantitative ecologist, and previously worked as a research fellow with the US Forest Service’s Air Resource Management and Forest Inventory and Analysis programs. Rob taught graduate and undergraduate course in the Dept of Botany and Plant Pathology at Oregon State University after earning his PhD there with a focus on detection and prediction of climate signals. He is a member of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP).
