Office of Strategy, Planning, and Analysis (OSPA) team members attended the Strategic Enrollment Management conference hosted by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers earlier this month. Stephanie Kane, Assistant Vice President for System Analytics and Reporting and Data and Strategy Associate, Pavan Dhanireddy, were both in attendance at the conference in Boston, Massachusetts, to glean information and insights on using data to aid enrollment services.
“One session that stood out provided valuable insights on enhancing enrollment management, including key collaborations across departments, critical metrics for creating projections and tracking progress, and ways to expand data literacy at our institutions,” shared Pavan. “These insights will be instrumental in helping us set realistic goals, monitor progress, and make more data-informed decisions.”
OSPA supports WSU system enrollment services through data analysis, forecasts, and visualizations to help make data-informed decisions about Washington State University. Strategy, Planning, and Analysis staff regularly attend enrollment tracking meetings, work with Enrollment Management staff to understand the recruitment and admissions landscape, and provide key decision-support analytics at the System Net Tuition meetings.

Connecting with WSU Colleagues
“Our office works with so many people across the WSU system,” said Stephanie, “it was helpful to be in person with Laurel Rea and Jason Yi from WSU Vancouver, to talk enrollment management challenges and developments, and for Pavan to have the opportunity to meet colleagues in person that we so often partner with.”

Whether conference sessions were about embracing new technologies and trends in enrollment, exploring third party vendors and enrollment management, or looking into net tuition modeling and the efficacy of merit-based aid on recruitment and retention, our OSPA analyst team will be taking that knowledge home with them as they look for the best practices in delivering data analysis in serving Washington State University.
